I have had the pleasure of teaching at J.S. Abrams Elementary School for eighteen year. During this time, I have taught first sand third grade scholars.

My name is Mary Alyssa Rushton. I have had the pleasure of teaching at J.S. Abrams Elementary School for eighteen years. During that time, I have taught first and third grade scholars. I earned my Bachelors degree from the University of Montevallo in the spring of 1996. In 2012, I continued my education by earning  my masters degree in Teaching Speakers to English of Other Languages from Grand Canyon University. I recently completed my Doctorate of Education from Grand Canyon University.

I am the only daughter of Tom and Kathy Hester. My parents were also educators. I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two dogs. In my free time, I love to watch college football, and cheer on my Auburn Tigers!!! My favorite bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11..I truly believe that God knows the plans that he has for all of us!!!

I look forward to another great year of teaching first graders at J.S. Abrams this year!!!!!
