Greetings Panther Parents!!!

Spring is right around the corner which means daylight savings time, warmer weather, blooming flowers and fewer days left in school. Although the end of school is quickly approaching, there is still much teaching and learning to be done. Spring testing is definitely on the horizon and preparing students has been the goal of each teacher since the very first day of school. Please know that your support is paramount to the success of our students. Thank you so much for coming out to our Black History Program as our students showcased their talents with a salute to our military and the sounds of Motown. You showed up in numbers to read to our scholars as we celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday with Donuts for Dad, Muffins for Mom and Goodies for Grandparents. Our school will be spotlighted at this month’s Board meeting (Tuesday, March 20^th, at 6:00 p.m.). We want you to come and fill the Boardroom with your presence as Panther Nation shares the great things we have going on in our school.

Remember, we are focusing on academic achievement, academic growth and attendance. Parents, we need your help in aiding us with reaching our goal of being removed from the failing school list. Again, this requires ALL of us doing our part. Each piece of the puzzle is necessary in order to have a complete picture; you are an integral piece to the success of our students. Again, please make sure students are on time, attend school daily and are ready to learn. Communicate on a regular basis with teachers and offer your support. Your voice and your presence are greatly needed as we work to make J.S. Abrams Elementary School the best we know it can be.

Ø  Parental Involvement Meeting: Topic: Test Taking Skills (8^th)

Ø  Daylight Savings Time: Spring Forward (11^th)

Ø  Report Cards Go Home (15^th)

Ø  School wide Spelling Bee (16^th)

Ø  Early Dismissal for students due to professional development (16^th)

Ø  School Spotlight for Abrams Elementary at Board meeting (20^th)

Ø  District wide Spelling Bee at BCMS (21^st)

Ø  1^st grade field trip to the McWane Science Center (23^rd)

Ø  Spring Break (26^th-30^th)
